What is CORR Racing?

29 09 2009

Short-course off-road racing is an extremely competitive form of racing that pits 900+horsepower 2 and 4-wheel drive trucks in fender-to-fender competition on closed-course off-road arenas. The tracks are built with banked berms, punishing whoops sections, and giant full-throttle sweepers that set the stage for extreme action and intense racing. The trucks are equipped with 18 inches of suspension travel in the front and 20 inches of travel in the rear that is damped by sophisticated bypass shocks. They’ll need every bit of that suspension travel as they fly full-speed off the jumps and carve their way through the rutted track surface. The premier sanctioning body for this type of racing is TORC, THE Traxxas Off-Road Championship Series. The Traxxas-sponsored Jenkins Brothers Racing Team will be running the full season of TORC. The eight National broadcasts of the eight-round TORC series will be broadcast on national television in mid-2009. The Traxxas-sponsored trucks will race in the Pro 2WD and Pro 4WD classes. Traxxas racer and 6-time national Pro Light champion Jeff Kincaid will race the series with the goal of a seventh national championship. With Traxxas’ involvement in full size off-road racing, the engineering for the radio controlled and the race trucks is converging to advance both sports. “Originally Posted on http://www.Traxxas.com

The New RC Short Course Race Truck is Taking the RC Off Road Racing World by Storm !

28 09 2009

Hot New RC Class is added to ROAR Racing Competitions – CORR Short Course !!

This new class of RC Off-Road race trucks in general have a couple of features that are unique to off-road racing and bashing.Traxxas Slash

First off, they are a true scale replica of a full size race truck, the TORC (The Off Road Championship Series race truck. Secondly, the body is full fendered.

Probably the coolest thing about this rc race truck is it handles and preforms just like it’s full size cousin.

On acceleration the rear squats down and on braking the front dives down. In the corners it is designed for dirt flying power slides with extreme body roll all the time keeping the tires planted on the ground with it’s loose long-travel suspension.

The long-travel suspension enables the short course race truck to master any obstacle it encounters. In a jump you see just how much droop the long-travel suspension has and upon landing the tires disappear into the wheel wells.

The suspension setup and the type of handling the short course race trucks exhibit can easily be just the opposite of what many of us have been taught or use.

Theses trucks are designed to drive very loose, with huge dirt rooster tails behind them. They will demand that we learn a different driving style for these dirt slinging, fast and woolly trucks.

Another neat thing about the new rc short course race trucks is that they available in 1/8th scale or 1/10th scale, nitro or electric powered and 2WD or 4WD.

So, if you are looking for intense high speed, high flying, fender to fender off-road racing the RC short course race truck is for you.

With the fenders covering the tires you can rug or bang against your fellow racers or bashers and not have to worry about crashing or getting tangled up.

No matter which scale, power plant or drive system the rc short course race truck is going to challenge your driving skills.Traxxas Slash

You are going to be in for a completely new driving adventure be it at the track or the backyard that could be addicting!! Special Thanks to http://www.rc-truckncar-tuning.com. Please visit them at http://www.rc-truckncar-tuning.com
